Full-Time Employment Opportunities

Development Systems Associate

The Development Systems Associate is a full-time salaried position. The incumbent will join a team of Development professionals responsible for internal systems support to the department’s overall fundraising plan. The Development Systems Associate will provide data entry/management to enhance donor services for individual, corporate, and public sector giving. The Associate will work closely with the entire Development Team and interdepartmentally within the organization to coordinate and oversee annual and special projects. This individual will process daily contributions utilizing the Trust’s CRM software (Tessitura) and provide data management support.

Candidates should have an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, data management, IMLS, fundraising, or equivalent professional experience in a related field. Prior relevant experience working in an administrative position with data management and writing skills is required. This individual must have experience working with database systems, such as Tessitura, Blackbaud, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, Microsoft Access, etc., along with detail-orientation, ability to multi-task, and strong organizational skills. The salary range for this position starts at $40,000.

Office and Executive Projects Manager

The Office and Executive Projects Manager is a full-time, fully onsite, salaried position that will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the administrative offices for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. This position will strengthen and maintain protocols and processes relating to supplies, document retention, and other functions. Additionally, the Manager will coordinate key office activities, meetings, and events, as well as support office space assignments and re-assignments. The Manager is also responsible for administrative matters relating to the Board of Trustees, including preparation of meeting materials, coordination of Board meetings and Trustee onboarding, and correspondence with Trustees. The Manager will report to and work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer, providing support for executive projects.   

The ideal candidate should have outstanding organization and communications skills and be responsive, collaborative, and able to manage stakeholder expectations.  A minimum of five years’ experience is office or project management is required, and experience with board or high-level stakeholders is strongly preferred. The salary range for this position starts at $52,000.

Director of Data Analytics, Strategy and Governance

The Director of Data Analytics, Strategy and Governance is responsible for designing, planning, monitoring, and improving the data analytics and management functions of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. This individual will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and analyze business processes, gather business requirements, evaluate concepts, and present key performance metrics to the business to support strategic goals and efforts. The Director must be able to understand both the technical points of data management, as well as the business drivers and needs regarding data. This individual must be able to understand the underlying technology related to the organization’s data resources and develop a strategic plan for the technical space considering the business’s perspective and needs.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional listening and communication skills. This individual will be sensitive to user issues and able to communicate with different stakeholders with varying levels of sophistication. The candidate should be a strong problem-solver who is able to combine big picture vision with attention to detail. Outstanding customer service orientation, business acumen, and understanding of organizational priorities are essential. Experience in arts administration is a plus.

Candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or organizational development along with a deep understanding of technical and business aspects within a complex data landscape. Required technical competencies include expertise with Tessitura CRM software and working knowledge of analytics platforms like Sisense, Tableau, Qlik, and Microsoft Power BI. Working knowledge of applications that integrate with Tessitura and data governance tools required. Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence tools with exposure to large leaning models is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree required in communications, writing, data analysis, business or related field or comparable experience. The salary range for this position starts at $80,000.

Director of Facilities and Grounds

The Director of Facilities and Grounds is a full-time, salaried position responsible for overseeing effective operating procedures across the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s buildings and grounds. The position will lead and manage all facility-related activities (including buildings and grounds maintenance, engineering, and code compliance) across the Trust’s unique real estate portfolio, which includes major performing arts venues, galleries and arts spaces, office and administrative buildings, open spaces, and dormant properties. The Director of Facilities also manages and directs the performance of a team of 10 full-time operating engineers as well as interfacing with third-party property management firms and engineering services.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and attention to detail. This individual will be resolute yet diplomatic with the flexibility and creativity to find alternative solutions to challenges. Candidates should have 10 years’ work experience in comparable positions with at least 3-5 years’ experience managing large complex building or construction projects. Prior experience managing a project team is essential. Technical knowledge requirements include familiarity with building maintenance software, HVAC monitoring systems, and reading blueprints. Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, industry standard safety requirements, and local City and County ordinances, codes and permitting is required.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field, or comparable experience, is required. The salary range for this position starts at $75,000.

Part-Time Employment Opportunities

Front of House - Ambassador

Front of House Ambassadors assist theater patrons and support traffic flow, seating, and facility security at performances scheduled at various Trust facilities. Ambassadors are scheduled to work for the duration of an event, typically between four and six hours. These individuals work cooperatively with House Managers, Floor Managers and other event personnel to ensure guest safety, comfort, and enjoyment while visiting Trust venues and/or attending Trust shows or events. This is a part-time position working mostly evening and weekend hours. Ambassadors will be rotated with other part-time staff members with no annual guarantee for the number of events worked. Hours will be determined by the needs of the Trust and will coincide with events scheduled at Trust facilities. Parking reimbursement is provided during work shifts.

Gallery Attendant

This is a part-time onsite position for daytime, weekend, and occasional evening hours. Gallery Attendants are responsible for assisting guests by providing vital information and instruction on current exhibitions and ensuring security of artwork and the gallery space. Attendant shifts are Wednesday – Sunday. Shift availability is based on curatorial planning for each gallery.

The hourly rate for this position is $15/hour.

Box Office Representative/Part-Time Ticketseller

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is seeking part-time box office representatives to process ticket sales, exchanges, subscriptions, and donations in person and by telephone at the Theater Square Box Office location. These individuals should demonstrate excellent customer service skills as they interact with Cultural District patrons, members, and donors. Box Office Representatives will be required to maintain knowledge of performances throughout the Cultural District.

Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team. This position requires exceptional customer service orientation, the ability to focus in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with computers and customer databases. Cash handling experience is a plus. Applicants must be able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. This is a part-time, union position with a starting wage of $17.08/hour.

Stagehand

This is a part-time, hourly position for a technician in the installation and operation of large touring theatrical road shows (e.g., Broadway tours), rock & roll shows, and other large stage performances such as opera and ballet. This individual should have the ability to follow direction and be an on the job learner. This is a union position with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 3.

The stagehand reports directly to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s House Carpenter and the Trust’s Production Management team. Stagehands must be available to work a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends), often working long hours to accommodate performance and event requirements. Hours are offered via a hiring hall; stagehands accept calls that work with their schedule and their skill set(s). Union calls are issued based on seniority.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are examples but are not limited to the various types of job responsibilities.

  • Load and unload road cases, scenery, and materials from loading dock.
  • Assemble and disassemble scenery, stage equipment, and auxiliary items such as dance flooring.
  • Set up audio and lighting equipment, theatrical equipment, microphones, props, and auxiliary equipment such as orchestral music stands.
  • Move and rearrange furniture, set up risers, and operate scenery-moving machinery.
  • Assist with video, sound, and light production and/or maintenance.
  • Rigging which may include raising motors, lighting, and scenery out into the grid as well as lowering it onto stage.
  • Work with audio engineers, electricians, carpenters, and other backstage personnel.
  • Other backstage duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Skill or ability to learn about stage equipment and various tools used. On the job training is provided.
  • Ability to work from oral requests and well as printed run sheets to achieve desired modifications/installation.
  • Willingness to work long hours, accommodating work schedule to requirements of performance and events.
